The science faculties at UWA offer a range of programs and activities to promote the understanding of science in the community.
Schools and teachers
- SPICE is a secondary science teachers enrichment program. SPICE is delivered in partnership with the WA Department of Education and Training.
- The Siemens Science Experience is a three-day workshop of hands-on science and activities for school students entering year ten.
- PICSE is a program that encourages school students to consider careers in agricultural and environmental sciences.
- SEEK peer tutoring involves second and third-year science and engineering students. Students in the SEEK program tutor school students in years six to twelve.
- The Earth Science Museum provides a rich experience for visitors and valuable services to schools, including resource ideas and professional development days for teachers. The University also has an Earth Science Discovery Centre.
Business, industry and the general community
- Science Matters is the Faculty of Life and Physical Sciences newsletter. Published three times a year, Science Matters keeps alumni, staff, students and supporters in touch with what is happening in the Faculty.
- Science Communication workshops give scientists the skills to communicate more effectively with the media, business, industry and the community.
- SymbioticA is an artistic laboratory dedicated to the research, learning and critique of life sciences.
- RCE WA is an education network for sustainable development in Western Australia.
