Teachers are encouraged to attend our PICSE Professional Development days to improve their understanding of the relationship between science and the primary industries.
The Professional Development days for 2008 are the 26th and 27th of November. The activities span the two days and the theme for this year is "Gene Technologies - Where is Science at?"
These workshops help teachers develop activities and explain real life applications of classroom concepts. The PD sessions also demonstrate some of the cutting edge research that is occurring within this field, so that teachers are able to motivate and encourage students to look beyond the text book.
PICSE Professional Development days are also held at the University of Tasmania. Each year we facilitate a teacher exchange, giving a teacher the opportunity to travel to the University of Tasmania for their Professional Development experience. If you are interested in this exchange, please make a note of this on the expression of interest form and an application for the Professional Development Scholarship will be sent to you.
