Restoration Ecology involves the conservation of our natural environment and the restoration and rehabilitation of damaged ecosystems.
Studying restoration ecology will provide you with skills in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating ecological restoration initiatives. This course encompasses the restoration and rehabilitation of both land and water ecosystems and examines the environmental, social, economic and political factors that shape restoration and rehabilitation problems and their solutions.
The Graduate Certificate in Science (Restoration Ecology) consists of four coursework units.
Students may select from a wide variety of units including Biodiversity and Habitats, Conservation Biology, Environmental Economics, Environmental Policy and Law, Ecology, Waterway Restoration and Conservation, Degradation Processes, Environmental Targets and Monitoring, Environmental and Resource Economics, Community Natural Resource Management, Conservation Biology: Saving Endangered Species and Restoration Ecology: Case Study.

A relevant bachelor's degree from this or another recognised university; or a qualification or a level of education and professional experience recognised by the Faculty as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
