Wildlife management incorporates the science and management of wild animals, both rare and common species.
Threatened species may require particular knowledge of population structure and processes for effective management, while common species may need control or might be exploited as novel production products. This Graduate course will give you a good understanding of reproduction, behaviour, and genetics of the animals that are being managed so that their responses to environmental challenges can be predicted.
The Graduate Certificate in Science (Wildlife Management) consists of four coursework units.
Students may select from a wide variety of units including Ecology, Animal Science, Vertebrate Zoology, Geographic Information Systems, Genetics, Land Plant Diversity and Systematics, Animal Ethics and Welfare, Wildlife Conservation and Management, Animal Ecology, Behavioural Ecology, Project and Risk Management, Genetics and Evolution, Animal Resource Management, Management Decision Tools, Conservation Biology: Saving Endangered Species.
