World populations and economies are rapidly increasing in their demand for food and fibre.
In addition, many people switch from plant to animal sources as incomes rise. Animal scientists enable farmers to supply the demand for food and fibre from animal sources in a sustainable way by applying scientific, economic and social knowledge. This course will prepare you well to participate in the rapidly evolving area of animal production, based on “clean, green and ethical” principles.
The Graduate Certificate in Science (Animal Science) consists of four coursework units.
Students may select from a wide variety of units including Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Animal Production, Pasture Systems, Genetics and Animal Breeding, Integrated Pest Management, Animal Ethics and Welfare, Ecology, Wildlife Conservation and Management, Animal Resource Management and Animal Science and Technology.
