environmental_managementEnvironmental management has become an integral part of the activities of industry and governments.

It is now a primary function and requirement closely tied to questions of economic development and environmental sustainability. It involves devising effective measures for the protection and conservation of the environment, natural and cultural heritage and natural resources. This course will provide you with the necessary skills in the procedures and methods required in environmental management practices.

Course outline

The Master of Science (Environmental Management) consists of four coursework units (50%) and a research dissertation (50%).

The coursework component may be selected from a wide variety of units including Business and the Environment, Environmental and Resource Economics, Environmental Change, Project and Risk Management, Environmental Planning, Management and Sustainability, Marine and Coastal Planning and Management, Management Decision Tools and Climate Change Policy and Planning.

Admission requirements

Domestic students

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree with honours of this University, with a weighted average of at least 60 per cent in those units for which the results contribute to the calculation of the honours classification, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty

or

  • a relevant bachelor’s degree of this or another recognised university, and
  • a relevant Graduate Diploma of this University with an average mark of at least 60 per cent, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty.
