World populations and economies are rapidly increasing the demand for food, wine and amenities.
Horticultural scientists enable growers and managers to supply this demand in a sustainable way. This course will prepare you to deal with the increasing demands of the expanding horticultural industries.
Course outline
The Master of Science (Horticulture) consists of four coursework units (50%) and a research dissertation (50%).
The coursework component may be selected from a wide variety of units, including Horticultural Production Systems, Organic Agriculture and Horticulture, Integrated Pest Management, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Plant Physiological Ecology, Plants in Managed Landscapes, Molecular Genetics in Managed and Natural Systems, Conservation Biology and Restoration Ecology, Land, Soil and Water Systems and How Soils Function.

Admission requirements
Domestic students
- A relevant bachelor’s degree with honours of this University, with a weighted average of at least 60 per cent in those units for which the results contribute to the calculation of the honours classification, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty
or
- a relevant bachelor’s degree of this or another recognised university, and
- a relevant Graduate Diploma of this University with an average mark of at least 60 per cent, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty.
