Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)


You can undertake a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in any area of science.

A PhD is a program of independent, supervised research assessed solely on the basis of a thesis that is examined externally.

A doctoral thesis must be a substantial and original contribution to knowledge of the subject with which it deals.

Benefits

The Faculty offers many benefits to postgraduate researchers.  Depending on the School you enrol in, these may include:

  • up to $2500 in operational costs
  • up to $500 travel support to attend conferences
  • up to $1500 towards the purchase of a personal computer
  • fully funded off-campus workshops and retreats
