Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences

Welcome

Science was a founding faculty of the  University of Western Australia, located in Perth.  Over the last century, our reputation for excellence has attracted outstanding staff from around the world, and many of our graduates are now world leaders in their fields.  Two faculties cater for Science at UWA - Natural and Agricultural Science (this site) and Life and Physical Sciences.

Western Australia provides a unique laboratory for the study and understanding of natural and agricultural sciences.

Capitalising on this attribute, the Faculty of Natural & Agricultural Sciences offers exciting opportunities for studying at an undergraduate or postgraduate level, and researching the science of natural resources and their management.

Focus is placed on:

  • fundamental earth and biological sciences
  • agricultural and ecological systems
  • minerals and petroleum geosciences
  • environmental sciences (terrestrial and marine)

 Why choose UWA?

UWA has been rated 37th in the Top 100 world universities in Life and Agriculture Sciences in the Shanghai Jiao Tong University rankings for 2007 making UWA the highest internationally ranked Australian University in this category.

"UWA has more young, bright full-timers than any other university in the country.  It is at the top of the WA academic ladder, by far the oldest and richest university with the best site ... the university of first preference for the top achievers among WA school leavers..."
