Postgraduate Study in Natural & Agricultural Sciences

The Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences has approximately 300 academic, research and general staff with both pure and applied backgrounds and  attracted $34 million of research funding in 2007.  The Faculty is extremely well-placed to provide research in support of resource development and conservation in both terrestrial and aquatic environments.  Our unique combination of scientists and economists provides a collaborative research and teaching environment that benefits students and external stakeholders alike.  The Faculty has a strong commitment to the quality of its teaching.

Research in the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences is concentrated in four broad areas:

  • Fundamental earth and biological sciences
  • Agricultural and ecological systems
  • Minerals and petroleum geosciences
  • Environmental sciences  (including marine science)

Western Australia is a unique global laboratory for the study of the evolution of the earth, its climates, environments and its biota. WA has some of the world’s oldest rocks, earliest traces of life and is recognised as one of the world’s biodiversity hot spots.

We offer postgraduate courses through both coursework and research (mainly Ph.D.).
