I have nearly thirty years experience studying ecological processes at aquatic-terrestrial boundaries. This has included research on trophodynamics, nutrient cycling, fish biology and vegetation dynamics in seagrass, mangrove, continental shelf and floodplain river habitats in tropical and temperate Australia, Canada, New Guinea and south-east Asia. Major research areas include:

• Food webs and material cycles in aquatic systems, including seagrass, mangrove, continental shelf and floodplain river habitats
• Identifying best-practice management of riparian habitats in landscapes dominated by beef and cattle enterprises
• Influence of the variable hydrology of Australian floodplain rivers on food chains and faunal communities in river channels and floodplain wetlands
