My position at Argus Biomedical involves developing a strategy to effectively commercialise an artificial cornea.

The job requires me to draw on both my business and science backgrounds, and gives me the opportunity to be involved in the process of innovation in science and technology.

It's a long way from the family winemaking business, which I had originally planned to take over when I first started university. 

It was this that prompted me to study science, which turned out to be the best thing I could have done. With a science background, you see the world through different eyes - you get closer to what is really going on, and have a deeper understanding of how our world is shaped so much by science and technology.
