BSc Natural Resource Management (Hons); MBA
Executive Officer Australian Wildlife Conservancy

I have always felt that we must manage our environment for the future in a way which preserves all the beauty and diversity of our natural world.

The four year degree provided me with a broad overview of land management considering both the conservation, agricultural and resource management viewpoints.

On graduating I chose to take my first job as a landcare coordinator. I next became an Australian Youth Ambassador for Development. Posted to Vanuatu, I worked on a community ecoforestry project with a local non-government, not-for-profit organization.

After starting my MBA, I was offered the position of Executive Officer with the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC), an independent not-for-profit conservation organization dedicated to the protection of threatened animals and species. I find that the combination of a theoretical and practical background in land management, combined with the business skills and insight provided by my post-graduate business degree are the perfect background for my current role which focuses heavily on the operational success of our 12 wildlife sanctuaries around Australia.

I was proud to recently be named one of the winners of the β€˜40 under 40’ award (2005) which recognises young Western Australians who have β€œan exceptional record of achievement within their particular field of endeavour.”
