Scientific Director
Concept Fertility Centre
King Edward Memorial Hospital
Perth
After working as a Research Officer at the University, I moved on to my present position as Scientific Director of the Concept Fertility Centre.
I am in charge of the Science Department, which includes embryology, andrology, biochemistry and research laboratories.
Being part of a team that assists couples overcome their fertility problems and have much wanted babies is extremely rewarding. There are also many opportunities to travel to international conferences and help establish similar laboratories in developing countries.
Written and oral communication skills, scientific article preparation and research principles are all skills that I developed at UWA, and ones that have played a part in the research articles I've had published in peer reviewed journals. I view these articles as career highlights, along with helping infertile couples have children, and winning the 1997 Robert Street Prize for my PhD thesis.
