BSc (Marine Science)
Environmental Advisor
Woodside Energy Ltd
Western Australia

I completed a Bachelor of Science in marine science, majoring in zoology.

I am currently completing part time zoology honours while working as an offshore environmental advisor for Woodside Energy Limited.

After graduating, I travelled for six months. When I returned to Perth, I entered the Woodside Vacation work program over the summer and then stayed on.

My current job involves managing environmental issues for the offshore division of the Pluto LNG Project. This involves assessing and controlling risks of invasive marine species for the offshore fleet and co-ordinating the marine monitoring program for the dredging phase of the project. I travel to Dampier monthly and conduct audits on dredges and offshore platforms. I also enjoy undertaking leadership training courses and meeting a variety of experienced professionals including external stakeholders in the petroleum industry.

My UWA marine science degree has been incredibly valuable in the marine monitoring and marine quarantine sections of my carrier. The courses provided plenty of opportunities to get involved with hands-on experience through fieldtrips and practical work. The lectures were world class and incredibly helpful.
