Research facilities

Further information

Excellent facilities enable students to achieve high-quality research.

Analytical equipment, such as mass spectrometry facilities, including the NanoSIMS 50 and Sensitive High Resolution Ion Microprobe (SHRIMP) ion microprobes and the state-of-the art WA Palaeomagnetic and Rock Magnetic Facility, make it possible to do sophisticated research.

A well-equipped plant-growth facility (on campus), includes multiple glasshouses, a cold room, plant-handling and teaching areas, as well as soil pasteurisation equipment and other resources for research.

The 67-hectare Shenton Park Field Station, only 15 minutes from campus, has a variety of facilities for both plant and animal biologists.

Extensive molecular biology facilities comfortably accommodate fifteen to twenty people working together at any one time.
