Excellence in Teaching Awards 2008: Knowledge exists to be imparted

The Faculty is strongly focused on providing you a rich and rewarding learning experience, and has identified three key objectives to do this:

Objective One
Enhance the Student Experience

Emphasis on improving student experience through developing a learning community inclusive of staff and students in the Faculty, including the Student-Staff Consultative Committee, student peer tutoring and the postgraduate teaching internship scheme.

The Faculty works in conjuction with various bodies to meet the University's goals of improving the student learning experience:


Objective Two
Improve Teaching Quality

Emphasis on improving teaching quality through a number of initiatives including peer review, mentoring, professional development programs, and building a Teaching & Learning culture where staff receive recognition and awards for excellence in teaching.

This awards process is aligned with the Australian Learning and Teaching Council Awards.


Objective Three
Continue to build links between teaching and research

Building on our research strength to ensure students are aware and excited by Faculty staff research activities.
